SMS Messaging Program

Last updated: August 1, 2026

Program Overview

FlowTable sends transactional SMS notifications on behalf of subscribing restaurants. Messages are sent only to guests who have explicitly opted in. FlowTable does not send marketing, promotional, or unsolicited messages.

Messages sent through this program include:

  • Waitlist status updates — when a table is ready or wait time changes
  • Reservation confirmations and reminders
  • To-go order status notifications

Consent is not a condition of purchase or service. Guests who decline are notified in person by restaurant staff.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies. Guests typically receive one to a few messages per restaurant visit.

Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier messaging and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan.

To opt out: Reply STOPto any message at any time. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages will be sent from that restaurant’s account.

For help: Reply HELP to any message or contact us at admin@flowtable.net.

Opt-In Flows

Guests are enrolled in SMS only through one of the following explicit opt-in flows. Providing a phone number alone does not enroll a guest.

1. Kiosk / In-Person Waitlist

Where it occurs:The restaurant’s in-restaurant kiosk tablet, displayed at the host stand.

Verbatim consent text displayed to guest:

“I agree to receive recurring text messages from [Restaurant Name] about my waitlist status. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help. Terms: www.flowtable.net/terms Privacy: www.flowtable.net/privacy”

The guest must check a checkbox next to this text before joining. The checkbox defaults to unchecked. Declining does not prevent joining the waitlist.

2. Online Waitlist (Guest Self-Service)

Where it occurs:The public-facing online waitlist form at the restaurant’s FlowTable page (e.g., flowtable.net/[restaurant]).

“I agree to receive recurring text messages from [Restaurant Name] about my reservation. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help. Terms: www.flowtable.net/terms Privacy: www.flowtable.net/privacy”

The guest must check a checkbox next to this text before confirming. The checkbox defaults to unchecked. Declining does not prevent making a reservation.

4. Staff Entry with Verbal Consent Attestation

Where it occurs: The staff-operated waitlist entry, reservation, or to-go order form in the FlowTable staff dashboard.

Staff attestation text:

“Guest was informed they will receive recurring text messages from [Restaurant Name] about their [waitlist status / reservation / to-go order], that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that they can reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help — and verbally consented.”

The staff member must check a checkbox attesting to verbal consent before the record is saved. The checkbox defaults to unchecked. If unchecked, no SMS is sent.

Data Practices

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are used solely to deliver the messages the guest consented to receive. This data is never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

In-person consent captured at the host stand (Flow 1) does not record an IP address, since the guest is not submitting through a web form.
